EFA Advises on Energy Efficiency in the NEM
4 May 2010
Commencing in April 2010, EFA Managing Director, Dr David Crossley is advising a team of consultants who are developing options for increasing energy efficiency in the Australian competitive National Electricity Market.
The consultant team is located in the Institute of Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney. The team has been engaged by the federal Department of Climate Change and
Energy Efficiency to identify opportunities for change in the National Energy Market framework to drive or support a step change improvement in energy efficiency.
The team's recommendations will be submitted to a Task Group of departmental heads that has been established to report to the Australian Prime Minister by mid-2010 on options to deliver a step change improvement in Australia's energy efficiency by 2020.
