Implementation of Demand Side Management in China

13 Oct 2009

EFA Managing Director, Dr David Crossley is managing a team of international experts to provide technical support on the design, implementation and measurement and verification of energy efficiency and demand side management (DSM) programs in China.

In September 2009, working with the non-profit organisation, The Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP), David visited a range of electricity utilities, government agencies and NGOs which are involved in implementing energy efficiency and DSM programs in China.

The purpose of David's study tour was to identify the type of technical assistance required by the Chinese organisations.

Following his visit to China, David is now identifying a panel of international experts who will be engaged by RAP to travel to China to provide technical support through both short training courses and longer in-country assignments with particular Chinese organisations.

This work forms part of the long-term China Sustainable Energy Program implemented in China by the US organisation, the Energy Foundation, working closely with RAP.
